Dear National and Regional Memory of the World Committees,

You are cordially invited to attend a UNESCO policy dialogue on “Documentary Heritage at Risk: Policy Gaps in Digital Preservation”, scheduled on 27 October.

The event will be split across two sessions at 8am CET and 5pm CET to accommodate an international audience across different time zones. The first session will address questions about cultural identity and sustainability, while the second will focus on technology and legal frameworks. Participants can use the same registration link for both sessions. To learn more about the event, consult the news article. A detailed programme and list of speakers will be published soon.

Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email with all the necessary details on how to join the webinar. The webinar will take place on ZOOM and will be livestreamed on UNESCO’s YouTube channel, where it will be available for viewing at any time. The event will have simultaneous translations in English and French.

The event is associated with the celebration of the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage and organized by UNESCO’s Memory of the World(MoW) Programme through the Preservation Sub-Committee of the Programme’s International Advisory Committee (IAC) and in partnership with the Information for All (IFAP) Information Preservation Working Group.

Please spread the word among your networks, and do not hesitate to reach out should you have any questions.
